PICYA/WBSG Scholarship Committee
We have just completed two very successful years awarding three $2,500 scholarships each year. We are now entering our third year with our benefactor, Western Boating Safety Group.
Western Boating Safety Group has been around for a little over forty years. Their mission is to inform and deepen boater’s commitment to safety, advocacy and education in boating. They do this through boating education classes, boat insurance, boating repairs and boating accessories.
Western Boating Safety Group will award three $2,500 scholarships to students who are Junior Members or whose parents, grandparents or guardian are members of a PICYA member yacht club
PICYA is the administrator of the scholarships. PICYA Delegates will receive the application form and letter of instruction at the March Delegates Meeting. The application will also be on PICYA Web Site www.picya.org. Please see below.
Applicants must be graduating, 2008, high school seniors or college students continuing to pursue their educational goals.
The scholarship committee will used criteria based on the student’s academic record, scholastic record, school involvement, community involvement and the written essay. Any questions may be directed to any scholarship committee member.
The deadline for all applicants is June 30, 2008
Scholarships wil be awarded on November 3, 2008
